“There is so much we can say about Pam Minick, the iconic cowgirl who has paved the way for so many. any claims to fame — Miss Rodeo America, one of the first females on television sideline reporting rodeo and play calling, numerous honors received, host of a few television shows, breakaway and team roper champion and so much more. She is a wife, friend, Western royalty, fearless leader, and the list goes on. She is the Barbara Walters of the western world blazing the trail and opening the doors along the way for others. Never afraid to lend a helping hand to the many females wanting to be in her presence to learn from her or be just like her. She lives by saying yes and that has afforded her many opportunities, little sleep, a lot of work, and at times some play! Fun facts include riding a bucking horse for the Johnny Carson show, almost marrying Tom Selick in a movie, owning a chimpanze….need we say anything else! If you missed out on listening or watching her episode – what a shame because she gives some great insight on her life and the experiences shes had along the way. The queen of cowtown is all about leaving something better than she found it and as we could say we find out how the west was won by Pam Minick herself!
“The well known industry of cutting has become increasingly popular over the years. With nods and involvement from various individuals who come from diverse backgrounds and occupations, it takes a good rider but a great horse to make a name for yourself in the National Cutting Horse Association. Right in the heart of Fort Worth, Texas lies the headquarters and when you watch the sport, and not just on Yellowstone, but at the Will Rogers Memorial center or out on a ranch, you understand the rush. Getting to know about the industry more and the people apart of it was fun for Lizzy and I. It was the first thing I attended when I moved to Texas and called Fort Worth home. Give this episode a listen, you wont be disappointed, and you too – will become a fan!”
“El Presidente (and my old boss haha) Mr. Medders has quite the story of how he got to where he is today. Now the President of The Cowboy Channel, the western world and rodeo industry wasn’t always on the broadcasters radar. With a love for sports, this Oklahoman, knew that having a production company and being involved in television to some capacity was in his future. He bleeds the brightest orange in America – being an Oklahoma State University fan – go pokes! He loves his family, pistol pete, and the cowboys and cowgirls. Commentating next to Butch Knowels for years, wearing his canadian tuxedo he could never compete – but he has always been able to be an advocate for western sports wether it be rodeo or horse racing or reigning. He will make friends with anyone as long as your not a sooner and you will be glad for the time you get to spend with him. If its talking shop or being under his leadership – he’s one of the good ones!”
