We loved being on the FORTitude podcast with JW Wilson and Brinton Payne!
Before we started taping Season 1 of Kirb Appeal, our fellow Roxo Media Housers invited us to dip our toes in the Podcast pond as guests on their show FORTitude. (You can watch/listen HERE.)
We were a little nervous to 1. be on the other side of the interview, 2. make our first podcast appearance together, and 3. do it with the founder of Roxo Media House JW asking the questions.
But JW and Brinton took it easy on us. They made us feel right at home in the new studio as we talked about the concept for our new show, how we became friends, and why we decided to do a podcast together.
After officially welcoming us to the Roxo Media House family (and giving their producer Jay Fitzgerald grief about the difference between tater tots and fried ocra) they grilled us about our backgrounds — during which JW got to the bottom of the dual spellings of Kirbe/Kirby and Brinton pitched the “impossible boot” to Lizzy (as a faux leather design to add to the City Boots collection).
It was a little chaotic and a lot of laughs. The four of us could not stop cracking jokes and steering off topic. Plus Lizzy was distracted by finding her “radio voice” (which is quite sultry) and Kirbe kept trying to takeover the interview. But we got through it without losing our composure.
Then we were put to the Best Friend test.
We both missed more than a few questions when asked about the other’s celebrity crush, favorite movies, childhood pets, pet peeves etc. But hey, silver lining, we will have plenty to unpack on our show.
Maybe hosting a podcast together will help us finally really get to know each other!
