Kirbe talks about heading to the mountains with Lizzy for a little work and a lot of fun — interviews, trunk shows, shopping, dining and rodeo.
Kirb Appeal has been getting some miles in! Lots would say it was for fun, but in all seriousness, it is for work — we just know how to play too!
God, bless us! I mean, between the cool and crisp mountain air and the red, white and blue for our beloved nation — there is no better way to ring in 4th of July than in Aspen, Colorado with old and new friends!
Lizzy had to go to Aspen for a City Boots show, along with other fabulous brands represented at the most gorgeous location. One of which is our new bestie Estela Cockrell (more on her later because we got to sit down with her and do a great interview. There is so much to love about Estela and the wonderful company she has created, Switch2Pure.)
As far as Aspen goes, who there isn’t from Texas? lol. In the summer it’s a melting pot for Fort Worth, Dallas, and Houston, probably because they are all escaping the heat. But really it’s like your regular Friday out on the town in the metroplex, just with better scenery and a need for a light jacket. By scenery I mean the landscape of the mountains, so nobody take offense, although the people are pretty.
The most spectacular shopping is to be had in Aspen as well as the vibes you are looking for on the food scene and night life. The new Catch restaurant, which is a chain but was the place to be, not just because we were there either haha. Super vibey and super yummy. White House Tavern is great for lunch, another chain but so quaint and cute. AJAX Tavern at The Little Nell is where we spent most of our time, the French fries alone, HELLLLOOOO LOVERRRR.
Watching the parade from Hotel Jerome, or honestly doing anything at Hotel Jerome, you’re in good hands there.
No matter where we went, there was some yummy appetizer and cocktail to be had. The Ritz has a cozy fire and seating area with live music – we were all in.
Usually to celebrate this great country, I go with champs or wine, so I stuck to what I am good at and did just that! Rose all the way and all day!
We had multiple encounters with Campo de Fiori, and they are not shy on their pours there, which I greatly appreciate.
You can go out pretty much anywhere in Aspen, and it’s a scene. And you can enjoy yourself anywhere, but really what it comes down to is the company. We had some fab friends and fam that surrounded us this trip and it was a great way to let FREEDOM RING!
Oh, and in true Kirb Appeal fashion we attended a rodeo. The Snowmass rodeo with Estela’s wonderful fam. No it wasn’t our first rodeo, and yes we had a hell of a time!
Be sure to check out our great interview with Estela, and we will do a follow up Q&A as well, since there is no better way to get good Aspen recs than from the resident herself!
